Blaze Media is looking for a creative, entry-level Social Video Editor to join our Social Media department in our beautiful studios in Las Colinas, Texas! The Social Video Editor will take raw video footage and use his or her editing skills and creativity to create viral video content for social media. Responsibilities:

  • Edit news reports, show clips, montages, and other video content optimized for sharing on social media
  • Customize video format and content based on the social platform on which it will be shared
  • Collaborate and communicate with the social media team and show producers to offer creative and stylistic notes
  • Develop tactics for editing video content in a way that supports compelling storytelling that is both informative and entertaining
  • Create project templates
  • Edit in various digital-video formats
  • Deliver high-quality material on time and in an efficient manner
  • Organize and archive footage and deliverables
  • Complete weekly performance reports to account for output and revenue.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience & Requirements:

  • Las Colinas, TX-based position (remote work may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates)
  • At least one year previous video editing experience required
  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut
  • Knowledge of social media best practices for video content
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple competing deadlines
  • A keen eye for identifying ways we can “spice up” our videos through clever cut-aways, cold opens, etc.
  • Good aesthetic judgment for making our videos pleasing to the eye
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines
  • A good attitude - the kind of person that jumps in where needed and can take correction well. You work hard, and have fun while doing it
  • A desire to constantly improve your skills and advance in your career

Required Education: We don’t care so much whether you have a piece of paper saying you went to college. If you’ve got the skills, you’ve got the skills. We’ll consider qualified candidates regardless of formal education.
